So today I did my first 8 hours of volunteering at my moms office with my mentor, who is a lawyer. Pretty much all day I just organized paper work for her. There was a big stack of papers that had peoples names on them and I had to put them all together so all of the case information was in one place. It was mins of confusing to do because there was more than 2 names and sometimes they didn't seem related but they were. Its kind of hard to explain. Then we went out for lunch at this yummy Japanese place in San Mateo and we talked about where I want to go to school and lawyer related things. Then we went back to the office and organized some more paperwork. After that I was given post it notes and I wrote down the names of the main client and put them on the side of the papers, which sounds simple enough but when there were more than 2 names I wasn't sure which one to write down since I wasn't familiar with any of the cases. After I was done I finally got to go home.
